Delete Account Data

Last updated: September 14, 2026

You can delete Gem Lingua account data associated with your signed-in Google, Facebook, or Apple sign-in account directly in the Gem Lingua app.

How to delete your account

  1. Open the Gem Lingua app.
  2. Go to the Profile tab.
  3. Tap Delete account.
  4. Confirm deletion in the dialog.

Request deletion without the app

If you cannot access the app, email info@polyglotmobileapp.uk with the subject “Gem Lingua account deletion”. State whether you used Google, Facebook or Apple to sign in and the account email, if available.

We must verify that you own the account before deleting its data. Never send your password, sign-in codes, or access tokens. Native iOS Apple sign-in accounts require fresh Apple authorization before deletion; the app revokes its Apple sign-in authorization. This deletes Gem Lingua account data, not your Google, Facebook or Apple account. If you used multiple providers, identify each account you want deleted.

What will be deleted

What may be retained

We may retain limited records when required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, payment records, backup integrity, or operational logs. Retained records are limited to what is necessary for those purposes.

Timing

Successful in-app account deletion removes active account data immediately. Apple sign-in accounts first require fresh Apple authorization and sign-in revocation. Earlier records in restricted backups and operational logs may remain until rotation. Existing Gem Lingua sessions on every device are invalidated immediately. Firebase refresh-token revocation and identity deletion are queued automatically; outages are retried until successful. Your Google/Facebook/Apple account and the providers’ independent login/security records remain under their policies. Email requests are processed after account ownership is verified, rather than immediately when an email is sent.

Local database backups retain 14 snapshots taken on a six-hour schedule. Cloud backups are scheduled for pruning after 30 days, with a further seven-day recovery window. Centralized logs are scheduled for deletion after seven days, subject to compactor cleanup delay. The current infrastructure retains no raw Docker log copies or disk spool. Backup cleanup depends on the service running. Restricted pseudonymous revocation records expire 31 days after deletion, extended only when a new session needs protection. Firebase cleanup identifiers remain only until cleanup succeeds. Automatic provider usage-event logging and advertising-ID collection are disabled in Android build 961 and later and in the current Flutter and native iOS builds; upgrade-related SDK events may still be sent, and earlier unlinked Google Analytics records remain subject to the existing two-month event and 14-month user retention settings, and aggregate reports may be retained longer.
